Agreed. The thing is, this isn't as big of a project as people made it sound (going as far to call it as "study"). I saw the profile pic article before, and yeah it's pretty cool. Also it's much bigger/more complex.
omg thanks for the link raj =P I luv myths on profile pictures... especially this like when their data fries against expectation XD: "We installed all kinds of sophisticated photo analysis software libraries, ran scripts to measure the percentage of face in each of our photos, generated diabolically meaningless scatter plots" BAHAHA
